PATINFO2018

Welcome to the PATINFO2018IP Search – Impact on Competition” from June 13 to June 15 in Ilmenau, Germany.

Searching for patents, trademarks and designs can generate a decisive advantage in competition: they help uncover IP infringements by competitors, avoid infringements of intellectual property rights and thus enable the newly developed products and processes to enter the market safely. In addition, they support forward-looking management by allowing statements about market evolution through observation of the IP activities of the environment. Research at the beginning of R&D projects can avoid duplication and thus reduce costs and time.

The importance of IP information for industrial competition will be discussed in the opening section by the President of the German Patent and Trademark Office (DPMA), a representative of the European Patent Office (EPO), a representative of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and a representative EUIPO, the European Union Intellectual Property Office.

In the main part, patent and trademark experts from industry, patent offices, information service providers and academic institutions as well as patent attorneys will present their expertise on this subject. In addition, we take up current topics in the areas of research, patenting and exploitation, trademark and design protection.

In the accompanying exhibition and in a series of short presentations, over 40 software vendors and information service providers will present their latest developments. The patent agency will present current technology offers of Thuringian universities and scientific institutions.

A free workshop program completes the event. The PATINFO2018, organized by the Thuringia Patent Center PATON, will remain the forum for the exchange of experiences between patent attorneys, patent experts, engineers, scientists, service and information providers and information brokers, offices and agencies of intellectual property rights.

To facilitate the informal exchange and networking the conference will kick off on June 13 with a Welcome Reception, sponsored this year by the patent information provider Minesoft and PATON.

We kindly advise you that the conference language is German.
