PATINFO2017

Welcome to the PATINFO2017 under the theme European IP Systems in Transition from May 31 to June 2 in Ilmenau, Germany.

Even without EU membership of Great Britain the European Unitary Patent packagewill come into force and influence our patent system in many ways. Moreover, the EU trademark law directive as well as the already introduced nullity procedure in design law will not only affect Germany. These changes for the European Intellectual Property System are discussed by patent offices, by industrial IP experts and by patent attorneys.

In the key notes the Vice-President of the German Patent and Trade Mark Office (DPMA), a representative of the European Patent Office (EPO), a representative of the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and a representative of the EUIPO, the European Union Intellectual Property Office will present their views on the projected changes within the European IPR system.

In the main part, patent and trademark experts from industry, patent offices, information providers and academic institutions as well as patent attorneys will give their expertise on this subject.

In the accompanying exhibition and a series of short lectures, software providers and information more than 40 service providers will present their latest developments.

A free workshop program will complement the event. The PATINFO2017, organized by the Thuringia Patent Center PATON, will remain the forum for the exchange of experiences between patent attorneys, patent specialists, engineers, scientists, service and information providers and information brokers, offices and agencies of intellectual property rights.

The patent agency will present current technology offers of Thuringian universities and scientific institutions.

To facilitate the informal exchange and networking the conference will start on the May 31 with a Welcome Reception, sponsored this year by the patent law firm Meissner Bolte and PATON.

We kindly advise you that the conference language is German.
